World EV Day, marked every year on 9 September, celebrates the move to electric transport around the world. For India, where millions of electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars and buses are already on the road, it is a good moment to look at how far electric mobility has come, and what comes next.
How far India has come
Electric vehicles reached about 8% of new vehicle registrations in India in 2025, according to Vahan data reported in early 2026, with two- and three-wheelers making up most sales. The public charging network has also grown to tens of thousands of stations. Read more in the state of EV adoption in India.
Ways to take part
- Drivers: share your EV experience with friends who are considering one, and try a new route or getaway.
- Businesses: add charging for staff or customers, or start a fleet electrification study.
- Housing societies: start the conversation about shared charging.
- Schools and colleges: host a talk or EV showcase.
Our focus
At PxT Energies and EVee Buddy, World EV Day is a reminder of why we focus on reliable, accessible charging. The shift to electric depends on drivers being able to charge with confidence wherever they go.
